Dear friends and colleagues;

We Need Your Help!!! We need it Now!!

As you may know, in 2010, The Collective moved to a new location for the first time in 26 years. The construction and soundproofing of the new facility, which brought an extraordinary expense, began in September and ran through the duration of that year. Due to issues related to complaints of "noise" being heard on the floor below us from our practice studios and classrooms, we have been been forced into long and expensive litigation with our landlords resulting in our decision to leave this location and move again to a location that will allow us to do what we need to do to serve our students and continue to build on the reputation, of which we are so proud.

Very recently, Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization, accepted The Collective for a fiscal sponsorship, which enables us to raise money for our soundproofing and legal expenses. The name of our project is 'The Collective SP and L Initiatives' and all contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

If you believe in what The Collective means to you, to New York City, and to musicians from all over the world, please consider helping to support our efforts through this fundraising initiative.

Donating online is quick and easy. Just follow the instructions on this page. If you are donating by check, please make it payable to 'Fractured Atlas' with 'The Collective' in the memo line. Please mail your contribution to The Collective, 123 W. 18th Street, New York, NY 10011

Many people enjoy making a donation as a gift or memorial. This can be very special for the musician in your life, or for someone who has lost a loved one. Please provide the contact information and The Collective will send a letter of acknowledgement.

Thank you for your continued support and please rest assured that all of us at The Collective will continue to work hard and keep up the great work we have done for the past thirty-five years.
