Oliver Valdés is one of the most influential drummers of the new percussive generation from Havana, Cuba. He has worked with artists like Silvio Rodríguez, Francisco Cespedes, Israel Lopez Cachao, José Luís Changuito Quintana, and Memo Acevedo, among others.

To commemorate our 40th anniversary, Oliver was one of our featured guests of 2017 when he taught a Cuban music master class in September. These are a few shots from an evening full of rhythmic improvisation and great anecdotes.
