Born in Upstate NY, Anthony Citrinite, also professionally known as Ant Cee, began playing the drums at age 10. He moved to NYC at age 18 to study at Drummers Collective and search for a gig.
Anthony has been a resident of NYC since 1994 and has kept himself busy with music filled endeavors. In 2010 Anthony became only the 3rd Director of the prestigious Collective School of Music, formerly known as the Drummers Collective.
Since the start of his tenure as Director, he has worked on updating the focus of the Collective’s outreach to include the full range of digital and traditional media, and has broadened the school’s professional associations, both domestic and international. His philosophy is to make reasonable changes without negatively affecting the hard –earned integrity of the school.
Currently his drumming can be heard on a number of Major Label Albums including the Major Motion Picture Soundtracks for Saw III and The Feast as well as The Smashup’s three releases including “Being and Becoming” in 2005 on Warcon Records, “Untreatable” also in 2005 on Mighty Atom Records in the UK, “The Sea and the Serpents Beneath” released in 2010 on Eulogy Records, as well as a many others.
Ant Cee has also spent the majority of 2005 and 2006 circling the US, the UK, and Canada touring with The SmashUp on major tours such as Taste of Chaos, Warped Tour and Megadeth’s Gigantour.
Some additional career highlights include:
- A live TV performance with Legendary Rock Group BOSTON at the Fiesta Bowl in Tempe Arizona in front of 65,000 people followed by the recording of two songs with producer Tom Scholz for a Boston LP
- Playing percussion with Coheed and Cambria at their sold out “Neverender” show in LA in November 2008
- A live TV performance on the 2009 MTV Video Music awards, alongside Katie Perry and Joe Perry for their version of Queen’s We Will Rock You to open up the famous awards show
- His drumsticks being on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of the Warped Tour Exhibit
