Tony Conniff is one of New York’s foremost bassists, producers and teachers. He has been on the faculty of The Collective for 10 years, teaching Bass and Recording, serving as the chief engineer of the APP program, and as the producer/editor/mixer of all music for The Collective’s series of Books/CDs.
He is one of New York’s leading songwriting coaches and conducts packed Tony Conniff Songwriting Workshops regularly at his recording studio. He serves on NARAS’ Producers & Engineers Committee and is current chairperson of the New York Music Producers group. He writes and produces music for CDs, film and television, with clients including ABC and Air America, and was nominated for Outmusic Producer & Songwriter of the Year. He continues to perform on bass guitar in recording studios and venues in New York and elsewhere, as well as in Broadway shows such as Rent, Hairspray, Shrek, and others, and movies such as Camp.
