NASM Accredited Programs

Since 2006, The Collective has been accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), which sets national standards for programs of music and the institutions that deliver those programs. For students, accreditation provides a validation of the quality of the programs offered and a commitment to continual improvement.

The programs listed below are included within the scope of The Collective’s NASM accreditation. With a variety of options, these programs allow students to start at their current skill level and launch–or advance–their musical careers.

PROGRAMS

Two Year Diploma

For Drums, Bass, Guitar, and Keyboard

Length: 1864 Clock Hours

Start Level 1 | Completion Level 6

Courses: Preparatory A & B, Certificate Programs A & B, Performance Musicianship Program, Elective Intensive Program (Levels 4 & 5), Advanced Performance Program (Offered in Spring or Fall Quarter only)

Purpose: This program is designed for the advanced beginning level student who wants to become a well-rounded, well-trained professional musician. Students in this program are expected to complete a minimum of 6 levels of musicianship, 5 levels of sight reading, and be able to perform on a level 4 in the six core styles for drums and bass, and on all standard pop and jazz harmonic structures for guitar and keyboard. Graduates receive a diploma.

Tuition: $60,500

1 ½ Year Diploma

For Drums, Bass, Guitar, and Keyboard

Length: 1,428 Clock Hours

Start Level 2-3 | Completion Level 6

Courses: Certificate Programs A & B, Performance Musicianship Program, Elective Intensive Program (Levels 4 & 5), Advanced Performance Program (Offered in Spring or Fall Quarter only)

Purpose: This program is designed for the intermediate level student who wants to become a well-rounded, well-trained professional musician. Students in this program are expected to complete a minimum of 6 levels of musicianship, 5 levels of sight reading, and be able to perform on a level 4 in the six core styles for drums and bass, and on all standard pop and jazz harmonic structures for guitar and keyboard. Graduates receive a diploma.

Tuition: $48,000

One-Year Certificate*

For Drums, Bass, Guitar, and Keyboard

Length: 972 Clock Hours

Start Level 1-2 | Completion Level 3

Courses: Preparatory A & B, Certificate Programs A & B (Offered in Spring or Fall Quarter only)

Purpose: This program is designed for the advanced beginner level student who wants to improve their proficiency in musicianship, and the performance of popular and jazz styles. Students in this program are expected to complete a minimum of 3 levels of musicianship, 3 levels of sight reading, and be able to perform on a level 2-3 in the certificate program sixteen foundation styles for drums and bass, and on all standard pop and jazz harmonic structures for guitar and keyboard. Graduates receive a certificate.
