Moore has become known as one of the premier funk musicians of his generation. 

Working as the driving force behind Galactic’s stadium-sized blend of New Orleans funk, jazz, hip-hop and electronic dance music, Moore is a well-versed drummer who has led the charge in blending traditional Second Line drumming with contemporary Pop Music in Louisiana and beyond. He is the primary figure bringing the second line drumming tradition to modern pop music. Legends such as Charlie Hunter, Maceo Parker, Tom Morello, Joe Jackson and Robert Walter are just a select few of the icons he has brought his talents to, Alongside leading his own Stanton Moore Trio. He even received a Grammy in 2007 for his contribution to Irma Thomas’ “After The Rain”. Moore stays involved in music education through teaching clinics, master classes, and private lessons all over the world. He has been a contributing writer for Drum! Modern Drummer and DownBeat magazines, and even serves on the board of directors for Roots of Music, a free music education and academic mentoring program!

Thanks to the Collective’s online learning initiatives, newcomers and alumni from around the world have been able to reconnect with the school on a daily basis, and bring our famous New York campus straight into their living rooms in real-time. Albeit by taking online private lessons with some of the incredible faculty or tuning into one of our clinics with a featured faculty member, musicians are able to continue to pursue their goals and share amazing experiences together online through The Collective!
