Terrell Foster-James

“TERRELL FOSTER-JAMES (he/him) (Voice Faculty) is ecstatic to be on the voice faculty of The Collective Global Vision! Raised in Chelsea, MA and a graduate of Berklee College of Music (‘14) on Full Scholarship received through the nationally accredited organization Berklee City Music (Boston), Terrell has found that singing, dancing, acting and performing has always been his desired form of expression. Teaching came naturally to Terrell and it was an inherent joy for him getting to develop his innate leadership qualities within education where he committed to intentionally catering to the student’s individual needs by bringing out their fullest potential and never giving up on them. With over 17 years of experience within the performing arts world and a degree in Professional Music with an emphasis in Music Education and Musical Theatre Performance, it all started for Terrell singing in the prestigious Boston Children’s Chorus, which led to an ambitious pursuit in music full-time. Inspired by their mission to spread social awareness and justice through performing arts, Terrell has adopted this mission personally and made commitments to be an impactful positive global leader. He believes music has the power to heal us all as a collective and raise our vibration through applied learning and openness so that expansion truly begins!

While simultaneously a full-time student at Berklee College of Music, Terrell also performed professionally every week in luxury private events nationally as well as internationally in destinations as in the Dominican Republic and Mexico. Terrell is a well-traveled, global performer and practices gratitude daily for opportunities that led him to experience countries like Canada, Mexico, Jordan, and a tour in China where he co-led and taught a Master Class while there and performed in an Off-Broadway production of “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” (2014). Most recently, notable successes include being offered to sing background vocals for Gavin Rossdale of the internationally well-known British Rock band: BUSH as well as some TV/Film/Voice-Over opportunities, as in ABC’s “LIVE with Kelly and Mark” (2024) and Jim Kerr’s 50th Anniversary iHeart Radio Celebration (2024). Terrell has booked an ever expanding range of opportunities within his career over the years. He’s performed in groups and soloed for Phillip Bailey of Earth, Wind and Fire, King Abdullah II of Jordan, was seen in NASCAR celebrity Kurt Busch’s episode reality TV show “Racing Wives” (2019), and even performed for American TV Personality Gayle King in the Hamptons for a private event to highlight a few performances. Some background TV/Film credits include Season 4 of NBC’s Manifest (2023) and Spirited (2022) with Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell as well as professional Commercial work for Bromley’s For Men (Kroger Inc). In addition, some NYC Broadway/Off-Broadway on stage credits include touring the country performing in the first National Tour of R.E.S.P.E.C.T. An Aretha Franklin Tribute Concert (2023). Over the years, he’s played the role of The Wiz in “”The Wiz””, Minstrel in “Something Rotten”, Tom Collins in “RENT”, Mereb in “Aida”, Mister (Understudy) in “The Color Purple” to name professional Regional Theatre productions performed in. Terrell is extremely grateful and beyond thrilled to be a part of this elite team of creatives teaching at The Collective Global Vision.

Teaching background:

Terrell has always been in leadership positions,  teaching others for most of his life and always expresses joy he has in teaching. By spreading the knowledge he’s gained over the years out “in the field”, he looks to further the education of those who similarly embody a love for music and singing as he does. Terrell has always felt a sense of encouragement by the universe to begin his own private studio practice one day and over the years has given lessons one on one as well as group classes, etc. teaching performance techniques and lessons for well over 13 years. He’s taught various styles and genres, with experience within many different fields and he has the willingness to go above and beyond himself for his students teaching them all he’s gathered over the years and by learning from them just as much as they learn from him. Teaching comes naturally to Terrell and he’s taught numerous students from all over the world at varying levels ranging from NYC Broadway level performers to those just discovering their gifts and wanting to expand whether that be in person, or online. Teaching tends to lead Terrell to experience connections in new places and cultures and his love for traveling and teaching was doubly fulfilled while out in China performing for a musical production, he also gave a Master Class teaching some performance techniques to the students invited after the show. Terrell has a personal mission of traveling the world and uplifting the collective, helping to globally raise our frequency as a people. He hopes to achieve this by educating others on the importance of giving yourself the title of being a “forever student” of the world, open to learning and growing in new ways and cultures of expressing themselves musically while simultaneously performing and opening up as many hearts to the healing power of music via inspiring social change and awareness through authenticity, compassion, confidence and educational advancements via the new technologies yet to come!

Teaching at the Collective Global vision since: 2018
