The Collective School of Music and Sound Collective are excited to announce Collective Masters Live! For Collective Masters Live events, we bring masters of their craft to share their musical knowledge with our community through detailed performance-based interactive presentations. All Collective Masters Live events can be attended in person at 28 Broadway NYC or online via the live stream.
Samuel Torres is leading the next Collective Masters Live: Congas and Other Hand Percussion for All. Torres is a celebrated Latin GRAMMY Award-winning percussionist, composer, and arranger from Bogota, Colombia, who’s played with many of the greatest jazz, Latin pop and salsa artists, including Tito Puente, Paquito D’Rivera, Chick Corea, Alejandro Sanz, and Ricky Martin.
This event is an interactive VIP workshop for SoundCollective platform members. Torres will discuss basic hand drumming techniques, feeling binary and ternary grooves, and principles of the Cuban Clave and the Conga Tumbao. We will provide hand percussion for in-person attendants.
***Please Note: This is a VIP event for SoundCollective platform subscribers. To learn more from Samuel Torres and attend all future Collective Masters Live events in person or via Zoom, subscribe to the SoundCollective Platform. You may also pay $25 at the door for access to one month of Collective Masters Live events.
